The Campsite

'Do you fancy getting away from it all, being at one with nature? The area is a designated  'Dark Sky Area', so lay down your head beneath a canvas of stars on a clear night.

What are you waiting for?  Pack your tent, hitch up the caravan and load the motorhome, along with your warm clothing (for the cooler evenings), your walking boots and your sense of adventure!

Dolau Afon  an independently owned licenced  site, which offers a sheltered south facing 1.5-acre flat grass site surrounded by trees..

The owners live on site in the cottage adjacent, should you need assistance during your stay.

The shower and toilet facilities are spacious, and heated in the cooler months. Guests that need more room or have mobility issues will find our family shower room easy to use.

The camping field is adjacent to the river, with access via a gate in the corner of the field. We have picnic tables dotted around for our guests to use, that can be picked up and carried to your pitch.

For generations, the river has been a popular local swimming spot, and popular for canoeing, fishing, skimming stones or simply spending time at*.  We have fishing rights (courtesy of Llanilar Angling Club)  and a complementary licence is available on request.  (£20 deposit, refundable on return of licence) the site is an ideal location for walkers, explorers, adventurers and cyclists (Sustrans route 81) , with pathways and cycle trails immediately from our door.

 

NOTE: There is no on site club or shop. Nearest shop & Pub 6 miles, nearest, petrol stn 9 miles

We cater for, couples, solo campers and small family units. We are walker, cyclist and Motorcycle friendly, and welcome well-behaved, under control dogs and children. 

Small rally's from organisations/clubs can be arranged/accommodated, please enquire.

MOTORCYCLISTS: Parking of bikes next to tent or on hard standing.

Please NOTE:

We are unable to offer space for single sex groups of 4 or more people. No Stag or Hen weekends.  

NO large/multiple family groups.

We aim to provide a peaceful environment for singles, couples and families to enjoy their break and  their surroundings Please see T&Cs

If you have a large tent and require a large space please phone before booking - space is limited.

  • WiFi is available/offered on site. 

  • No car charging facilities available.

  • Late check out, if you need a beyond the 11am depart time, please ask, there is an extra charge of £5

We have a quiet policy to ensure a restful good nights sleep is had by all.

 

Our policy means no loud noise at any time - No loud chatter or loud music between

10.00pm - 7am. No disturbance ensures everyone is a happy camper, and so too are our neighbours.

  

NO OPEN FIRES including log burners or similar, other than BBQs all BBQs must be raised  30cm off the ground.

No disposable BBQs

BBQs aloud depending on seasonal conditions. 

Consideration for fellow campers is appreciated by all. 

No Ball Games.

No play area for children

Site Rules 

Vehicles:

• No movement of traffic on site before 07:00 and after 22:00 and strictly no noise after 22:00 hours

• The speed limit on site is 5MPH

Dogs:

• Dogs to be kept on leads at all times

• Dogs mess must be collected in poo bags and placed in the dog loo bins. Please use biodegradable bags where possible.

• Please do not leave your dog unattended in your vehicle, caravan or tent for long periods.

Site:

• Respect other guests and our neighbours right to peace and quiet

• No Ball Games. 

  Children to be supervised at all times 

• The site has its own sewage disposal system. Only natural waste  products to be flushed away, No wipes or nappies to be flushed away

• Caravans and tents must be pitched within the allocated area. If you fail to do so you will be asked to move

• Open fires are prohibited everywhere around the site – NO campfires/fire pits on pitches

• Barbecues allowed, but must be raised off the ground - NO Disposable BBQs permitted.

• Anyone who does not respect our site rules, will be asked to leave without a refund

• Recycle your rubbish in respective bins, food waste in container given on booking in.

 

 Please return the food bin to reception on departure.

Please take all broken camping equipment home with you – leave your pitch as you found it, and collect all litter from your pitch.
