What Our Guests Say

We booked an overnight stay in Dolau Avon's gorgeous little shepherd's hut to view houses for sale in Ceredigion near my mother. What a great decision! At the end of a long day we made up our little sofa into a cosy bed, looking out over emerald green pitches surrounded by trees, with only the the sound of the nearby river and the birds. After dinner with family we returned for a lovely nightcap under the stars before turning in and giving ourselves up in our little cwtch on wheels. Jillian had kindly provided us with access to a separate set of facilities for ourselves, including a very impressive composting toilet that had me completely change my mind about giving them a try in future. It was clean and fresh, worked like a dream and all necessaries were provided in a very cute Ty Bach. Other great features we didn't take full advantage of on our overnight stay were the excellent undercover glamping kitchenette, stocked with all we might need to cook and eat for ourselves al fresco - and wash up afterwards! We especially liked the little picket fence with their own planters of flowers that surrounded our little waggon, hung with dragonfly bunting. We didn't bring our dogs this time, but if we had this would have been a great reassurance and help - plus adding lots to the appealing looks of this little encampment. All in all, a really lovely stay and a great memory - thank you both!

Feedback - April 2021 (First guests of the season).

“Lovely setting, perfectly clean accommodation, toilets and shower were much better than expected and the hosts were very friendly. Although the hut is small it is very cosy and has enough room for 2 people and a few bags and we were warm and dry through the night. Would definitely come back and stay here again .”

“Beautifully decorated horsebox for a memorable glamping experience... Explore nice walks through the forest or wild swimming in the river.. Jillian and Vernon were lovely hosts and had firewood available for the firepit - great!”

“A unique introduction to camping and environmentally friendly techniques such as the compost toilet and a cosy night's sleep in the cleverly designed pretty trailer.”
